Description
Within the scope of this volunteering project, volunteers will be assigned to work across the project office, social welfare activities, environmental protection work, and the social media department. Tasks will be allocated according to each volunteer's skills and interests, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to youth-focused activities, local community initiatives, and social responsibility projects in Istanbul. In particular, volunteers taking part in the social media department will be able to carry out social media management, create new designs and visual content, help organise and update the website, and prepare and publish Instagram posts. The duration of the volunteering is 180 days excluding travel time. Following a preliminary evaluation, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview, and selected volunteers will receive a detailed information package by email.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will be allocated a fully furnished apartment close to the metro and city centre, with wi-fi included. Volunteers' individual funds (food, pocket money, insurance) will be allocated according to the rules of the European Solidarity Corps. A bus pass will be provided to reach the office and other project centres. The volunteer's travel expenses to and from Istanbul will be reimbursed according to the European Solidarity Corps distance band rules.
Training during the activity
Orientation training after arrival (city tour, introduction of the organisation, tour of the organisation's facilities, shopping, hospital, police and municipality) Turkish language course will be provided for 1 hour per week. Long-term volunteers will be sent to on arrival training and mid-term training organized by the national agency
Participant profile
Participants should be aged 18–30, with at least B2-C1 level of English, and residing in one of the specified countries. Candidates should have participated in at least 2 European Union projects, demonstrate strong social communication skills, and ideally have previous experience abroad. Prior experience in writing Erasmus+ or ESC projects is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office programmes and standard office equipment is required.
