Eight days. No phone. No fixed address. Just mountains, a river, a firewalk, and a group of youth workers learning what resilience actually feels like โ from the inside.
Narana is organising COMPASS โ The Core of Outdoor Mindful Practices for Adventurous and Sustainable Selfโ an intensive, 8-day digital-free training course taking place in the Jesenรญky Mountains and the Morava River, Czechia, from 5 to 14 June 2026. Designed for 22 youth workers and educators from 11 countries, this is an off-the-grid experience that combines demanding physical challenges with deep guided reflection โ all in service of one goal: building the kind of inner resilience that prevents burnout and makes better youth workers.
What Is This Training About?
COMPASS is built on Adventure Education โ the idea that trekking up a mountain, navigating a river by canoe, and walking through fire are not just physical experiences. They are mirrors. They show you how you lead, how you hold space for others, how you respond to failure, and how you recover. The training follows a learning by doing approach throughout โ every challenge is followed by structured reflection, and every reflection feeds into the next challenge.
This is also a zero-waste, no-alcohol, no-drugs, digital-free experience. Devices are switched off. Participants live in constant motion through the mountains, setting up camp in different natural settings each day.
