Some volunteering roles are about ticking boxes. This one is about people โ homeless individuals, ethnic minorities, young people leaving care โ and the systems that too often fail them. ADRA Serbia is looking for an ESC volunteer to join their team in Belgrade as a Project Assistant, and the work is as grounded and real as it gets.
๐ข About ADRA Serbia
ADRA โ the Adventist Development and Relief Agency โ is an international humanitarian organisation operating across the globe. ADRA Serbia works directly with vulnerable communities in Belgrade, focusing on social inclusion, equal rights, and building economic, social, and educational capacities for those who are most often left behind.
๐ฏ The Role
As a Project Assistant, you’ll be embedded in a working team โ not on the sidelines. You’ll support project management, handle administrative tasks, help prepare workshops and training sessions, assist with proposal writing, and even join field visits. The role sits at the intersection of project coordination and social impact, and it requires someone who is genuinely motivated by community work.
๐ Responsibilities
๐ฌ Support the project manager with communication, timeline, and deliverable management
๐๏ธ Handle administrative tasks including data classification, entry, and archiving
๐ Draft documents and gather necessary information for project activities
๐๏ธ Coordinate and prepare for meetings, workshops, and training sessions
๐ข Notify staff about meeting schedules and locations, organise meetings and send agendas
๐ Update project logs with assignment progress
๐ Assist in project implementation assessments and status reviews
๐ Support proposal writing through research, needs assessment, and data analysis
๐ Participate in field visits
๐ What ADRA Serbia Provides
๐ Appropriate accommodation near the Community Center and workspace โ each volunteer has their own lockable room
๐ Free public transport with frequent connections (every 5โ15 minutes) between the Community Center and city centre
๐ถ Monthly allowance of 500 EUR to cover food and communication costs
๐ Initial and ongoing orientation training with self-assessment and adjustment built in
๐ Training workshops in various formats โ including specialist training on working with homeless people and young people leaving care
๐ก Personal learning goals and interests taken into account when identifying training opportunities
๐ค Who Should Apply
This role is for a dedicated volunteer ready to turn their passion for social change into real professional experience. ADRA Serbia is looking for someone who is culturally sensitive, a strong team player, and willing to develop project management skills in a hands-on environment.
