๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ธ ESC Volunteering in Serbia ๐Ÿค Project Assistant at ADRA Serbia โ€” Social Inclusion & Community Development ๐ŸŒ

Some volunteering roles are about ticking boxes. This one is about people โ€” homeless individuals, ethnic minorities, young people leaving care โ€” and the systems that too often fail them. ADRA Serbia is looking for an ESC volunteer to join their team in Belgrade as a Project Assistant, and the work is as grounded and real as it gets.

๐Ÿข About ADRA Serbia

ADRA โ€” the Adventist Development and Relief Agency โ€” is an international humanitarian organisation operating across the globe. ADRA Serbia works directly with vulnerable communities in Belgrade, focusing on social inclusion, equal rights, and building economic, social, and educational capacities for those who are most often left behind.

๐ŸŽฏ The Role

As a Project Assistant, you’ll be embedded in a working team โ€” not on the sidelines. You’ll support project management, handle administrative tasks, help prepare workshops and training sessions, assist with proposal writing, and even join field visits. The role sits at the intersection of project coordination and social impact, and it requires someone who is genuinely motivated by community work.

๐Ÿ“‹ Responsibilities

๐Ÿ“ฌ Support the project manager with communication, timeline, and deliverable management

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Handle administrative tasks including data classification, entry, and archiving

๐Ÿ“ Draft documents and gather necessary information for project activities

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Coordinate and prepare for meetings, workshops, and training sessions

๐Ÿ“ข Notify staff about meeting schedules and locations, organise meetings and send agendas

๐Ÿ“Š Update project logs with assignment progress

๐Ÿ” Assist in project implementation assessments and status reviews

๐Ÿ“‘ Support proposal writing through research, needs assessment, and data analysis

๐Ÿš— Participate in field visits

๐ŸŽ What ADRA Serbia Provides

๐Ÿ  Appropriate accommodation near the Community Center and workspace โ€” each volunteer has their own lockable room

๐ŸšŒ Free public transport with frequent connections (every 5โ€“15 minutes) between the Community Center and city centre

๐Ÿ’ถ Monthly allowance of 500 EUR to cover food and communication costs

๐Ÿ“š Initial and ongoing orientation training with self-assessment and adjustment built in

๐ŸŽ“ Training workshops in various formats โ€” including specialist training on working with homeless people and young people leaving care

๐Ÿ’ก Personal learning goals and interests taken into account when identifying training opportunities

๐Ÿ‘ค Who Should Apply

This role is for a dedicated volunteer ready to turn their passion for social change into real professional experience. ADRA Serbia is looking for someone who is culturally sensitive, a strong team player, and willing to develop project management skills in a hands-on environment. Knowledge of the project management cycle is a plus โ€” but the drive to learn matters more. Applications are encouraged from candidates of all backgrounds and abilities.
