This ESC Humanitarian Aid volunteering opportunity invites passionate individuals to immerse themselves in community life โ teaching, supporting healthcare workers, facilitating youth programmes, and contributing to infrastructure and research projects that leave a lasting impact.

What Will You Do?
๐ Assist with teaching and educational support activities for children and young people in the Asikuma community
๐ฅ Support healthcare professionals in local health facilities and community health initiatives
๐๏ธ Contribute to community infrastructure and development projects
๐ฃ๏ธ Provide language assistance and communication support within the community
๐ฏ Facilitate youth programmes focused on skills development, empowerment, and inclusion
๐ฌ Conduct research to support sustainable community development initiatives
โ๏ธ Advocate for gender equality, equal access to education, and safe spaces for girls and young women
๐ฑ Support local small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship initiatives in the community

Humanitarian Aid Volunteering under the ESC sends young Europeans to some of the most challenging yet rewarding contexts outside of Europe โ supporting communities in building resilience and long-term sustainability. Unlike typical short-term volunteering, these placements are designed to create genuine, lasting impact through deep community integration and structured support.
Who Can Apply?
๐ Of legal age and residing in one of the eligible ESC countries
โ
Must have completed the compulsory ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training prior to departure
๐ซ Must not have previously participated in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering
โณ Total combined duration of all EU volunteering programme participation must not exceed 12 months
๐ Passionate about youth development, education, healthcare, and community empowerment
โ๏ธ Committed to gender equality, inclusivity, and equal access to opportunities
๐ From a diverse background and genuinely motivated to make a positive impact in Ghanaian communities
๐ค Able to work as a mentor and role model for young people and local communities
Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ Private room close to the project site โ just a 15-minute walk from the community activities

๐ค Live alongside local and international volunteers for fast and genuine community integration

Training & Learning
๐ป Pre-departure online training before leaving for Ghana
๐ฌ๐ญ On-arrival training in the host country upon landing
๐งโ๐ซ Daily support from a knowledgeable mentor throughout the entire volunteering period
๐ Mid-term evaluation training held after 4โ5 months into the placement
๐ Final evaluation before departure to close the volunteering experience
๐ Follow-up meeting organised 2โ3 months after returning home
