🌟 About the Opportunity

This ESC project takes place in the peaceful rural environment of Normandy 🇫🇷 and is hosted by D’Ecouves Verte, a non-formal education association dedicated to creativity, community engagement, and cultural openness. Volunteers will experience village life while supporting local youth, participating in community events, organising creative workshops, helping in schools, contributing to intercultural activities, and even developing their own personal projects. The hosting team is friendly, supportive and ready to welcome volunteers who want to immerse themselves in nature, culture and meaningful community work.

🌱🎨 Main Activities

Volunteers can take part in a wide range of flexible and creative activities, including:
✨ Leading workshops for young people (arts, environment, culture, languages)
☕ Animating a language café
📚 Creating educational materials
🎪 Supporting local events, festivals and community initiatives
🏫 Helping in schools and youth structures
🌍 Promoting intercultural dialogue and cultural openness
🎒 Participating in youth exchanges or residential programmes
💡 Developing a personal project that reflects your interests and passions

New ideas are welcome — volunteers actively shape their experience.

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

Volunteers live in an alternative collective house in central Alençon 🇫🇷, with:
🛏️ Private bedrooms
🍽️ Shared common spaces
🌿 A creative and friendly environment
🚗 A car available for missions and occasional personal use

Financial conditions:
💸 248 EUR/month pocket money
✈️ ESC travel grant according to distance band
🌱 Additional green-travel bonus may apply

🎓 Schedule, Support & Training

Working rhythm:
🕘 School period: Monday–Thursday, 9:00–16:00
🕘 School holidays: Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:30
📅 Occasional weekend involvement for events or preparation
⛺ Possible multi-day activities (youth exchanges, camps)
🗓️ 2 days off per month

Each volunteer has a trained Mentor for monthly individual and group support.
