As part of this experience, you’ll join Roots’ vibrant and inclusive team that supports over 50 youth organisations across Flanders and Brussels. These groups work tirelessly to make civil society accessible to everyone — regardless of background, culture, or belief. Your mission? To help them tell their stories, share their impact, and shine online! 🌟

💡 Your Role Will Include:

  • 🎥 Creating and editing photos & videos to promote youth activities
  • 🖌️ Designing visual materials like posters, flyers, and social media graphics
  • 📱 Helping grassroots organisations improve their digital storytelling
  • 🤝 Supporting workshops and events that empower young people
  • 🎙️ Learning about youth work, podcasting, and creative communication

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Transport:

  • You’ll live in a private studio with your own bathroom, living space, kitchen, and free Wi-Fi.
  • You’ll receive around €300 for food plus monthly pocket money.
  • A bicycle is provided for daily transport.
  • Travel costs are reimbursed according to the official ESC distance band rules.

🎓 Learning & Training Opportunities:

  • Pre-departure training in your home country.
  • On-arrival and Mid-term trainings organised by the Belgian National Agency (JINT).
  • Ongoing mentoring and local trainings on youth work, media, and podcasting.
  • Dutch language course offered to help integrate into local life.
  • Continuous learning through job shadowing and creative projects.

👥 Who Can Apply?
We’re looking for volunteers who are:

  • 🌍 Open-minded, inclusive, and proactive
  • 🗣️ Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus — or willingness to learn)
  • 🎨 Interested in visual communication and storytelling
  • 💻 Familiar with Canva or other design tools (or eager to learn!)
  • 📸 Passionate about creativity, media, and making a social impact

This project is perfect for young changemakers who believe design can empower communities, inspire participation, and create connection. 🌈 (but not literally 😉)
