Description:
Join the Dagtek Serviceenhet in Ekenäs, Finland, working with adults with intellectual disabilities or autistic spectrum disorders. Volunteers will engage in Art & Crafts workshops, assisting in weaving, fabric printing, knitting, embroidery, and more. The goal is to use participants’ skills to create high-quality, personalized textile products. Volunteers with an interest or background in arts, ceramics, or photography are especially welcome to enrich the community.
Accommodation, Food & Transport:
- Shared flat with two other volunteers.
- Lunch provided at Dagtek; other meals are self-cooked with a food allowance.
- Located in the charming seaside town of Ekenäs (Tammisaari).
Training During the Activity:
- On-arrival and mid-term training organized by the Finnish National Agency.
- Access to the Online Language Support (OLS) for learning Swedish.
Participant Profile:
- Interested in working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Motivated to learn Swedish and actively engage in community life.
- Skills or interest in visual arts, handicrafts, ceramics, or photography is a plus.
- Open-minded, flexible, and ready to handle fast-changing situations.
