💡 Overview

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) offers talented students from non-EU/EEA countries the chance to pursue a Master’s degree (MSc) at one of the top research universities in the Netherlands. 🌍

The scholarship supports excellent international students who have been (conditionally) admitted to one of the eligible master’s programmes starting in September 2026. Selected students will receive €3,000 to €22,000 for one year, with the possibility of renewal for two-year programmes based on academic performance.


💶 Scholarship Value

💰 Amount: €3,000 – €22,000 (for one academic year)
🎓 Duration: 1 year (renewable for 2-year programmes if performance criteria are met)
📈 Renewal Conditions for 2-Year Programmes:

  • Minimum average grade of 7/10 at the end of the third quartile of the first year
  • Completion of at least 50% of European Credits (ECs) by the same period

📋 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS), applicants must:
✅ Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country
✅ Have received (provisional) admission to a qualifying UT Master’s programme for 2026–2027
✅ Hold a Bachelor’s degree meeting UT admission standards
✅ Belong to the top 5–10% of their class academically
✅ Meet English proficiency requirements:

  • IELTS 6.5 (with 6.0 in speaking) or TOEFL iBT 90 (with 20 in speaking)
    ✅ Not be eligible for a Dutch study loan
    ✅ Not have graduated from a University of Twente (UT) undergraduate programme
    ✅ Be able to fund remaining study and living costs not covered by the scholarship

📅 Application Deadlines

🕓 Round 1:

  • Opens: 15 October 2025 (09:00 CET)
  • Closes: 1 February 2026 (16:00 CET)

🕓 Round 2:

  • Opens: 1 February 2026 (16:00 CET)
  • Closes: 1 May 2026 (16:00 CET)

⚠️ If you apply in Round 1 and are rejected, you cannot reapply in Round 2.

2️⃣ Receive your (conditional) admission letter and student number.
3️⃣ Apply separately for the UTS Scholarship using your student number.
