🌍 Project Overview
Welcome to Securely Attached to EU, a transformative Erasmus+ Youth Exchange rooted in attachment theory, emotional well-being and human connection.
Hosted in the peaceful countryside of Presenzano, Italy 🇮🇹, this programme brings together passionate young people from:
🇮🇹 Italy • 🇪🇪 Estonia • 🇸🇪 Sweden • 🇹🇷 Türkiye • 🇱🇻 Latvia • 🇵🇱 Poland
Over 10 meaningful days, surrounded by nature and a supportive international community, participants will explore the emotional patterns that shape how we love, trust, and relate to others. Through reflection, group dialogue, creativity, nature-based activities and shared experiences, they will deepen their understanding of themselves and build healthier connection habits.

💛 About the Project
Many young people navigate life carrying attachment patterns formed long before they understood them — chasing closeness, avoiding vulnerability, fearing abandonment, or seeking control to feel safe. These patterns influence friendships, romantic relationships, teamwork, communication, conflict and emotional resilience.
This project creates a safe, inclusive and human space where participants can:
- Explore their own attachment style
- Understand how early experiences shape current emotions
- Build empathy, trust, and emotional awareness
- Learn regulation and resilience
- Strengthen peer-support networks
- Develop healthier relationship habits
- Grow personally through storytelling, reflection, community and nature
The programme is grounded in the work of Bowlby and Ainsworth, exploring secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganised attachment patterns — NOT as therapy, but as a guided experiential youth-friendly learning process.
“Every secure relationship is a gift to the child inside you who longed for safety.”
🎯 Objectives
- 🌱 Support young people in identifying their attachment styles
- 🤝 Strengthen peer-support networks via youth-led groups
- 🧠 Teach emotional regulation & resilience strategies
- 💬 Encourage open, healthy conversations around relationships & mental health
- 💛 Equip participants with tools for secure, meaningful connections
- 🌍 Build emotional awareness essential for personal & community well-being
🔐 Mental Health & Safety
This Youth Exchange is NOT therapy, nor a substitute for mental health support.
Because the topic is sensitive:
- Participants must show emotional readiness
- Respect, empathy and confidentiality are mandatory
- Anyone in severe emotional distress is encouraged to seek professional help
- Zero-tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, aggression or harmful behaviour
Participants violating group safety will be immediately disqualified.
