๐ฏ About the Training
Gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most pressing issues affecting young people today. This training course equips youth workers and professionals with the tools, skills, and confidence to address GBV through education, dialogue, and action.
Through interactive sessions, simulations, discussions, and local study visits, participants will:
- Understand the core concepts ofย gender, gender equality, and violence.
- Learn to recognize and respond assertively to GBV situations.
- Develop local-levelย action plansย for GBV prevention.
- Strengthen communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
By the end of the course, participants will leave empowered to act as change-makers in their communities โ raising awareness, promoting gender equality, and helping end violence in all its forms. ๐ฌ๐
๐ง Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will:

Understand key gender and GBV concepts and cycles of violence.

Gain competences in non-formal education (NFE) and facilitation on sensitive topics.

Learn assertive communication and active bystander techniques.

Co-design concrete local-level prevention activities to implement after the training.

The training is rooted in non-formal education and experiential learning, combining theory with practice through:

- Reflection and peer-to-peer learning ๐งฉ
- Local study visits in Berlin ๐ฉ๐ช
- Youthpass recognition ceremony at the end ๐
Participants will co-create community action plans, exchange real experiences, and explore how to make youth work a powerful space for equality and safety. ๐๐ช
