📖 About the Project
The Solidarity Gardens project invites 20 motivated volunteers from Spain, Morocco, Türkiye, and Portugal to create sustainable community gardens in Betanzos. 🌿 This initiative addresses deforestation, climate change, and rural depopulation while strengthening community bonds. By combining environmental protection with social inclusion, this project creates green spaces that bring people together and support sustainable living. 🌍💚
🎯 Main Activities
- 🌱 Gardening & outdoor ecological activities
- 🌳 Planting, maintaining, and revitalising green spaces
- 🛠️ Practical work: setting up tools, equipment, and spaces
- 👥 Community workshops and team collaboration
- 🌍 Promoting sustainable living and awareness of climate issues
🏠 Accommodation & Meals
- Shared house on a hill overlooking Betanzos 🌄
- Double or triple rooms, shared kitchen, bathrooms, and living rooms with TVs
- Outdoor communal space for gatherings
- Travel & food costs covered by the host organisation
📚 Training During the Activity
- On-the-job training by the host organisation team
- Pre-departure training included
- Guidance throughout the volunteering experience
