Youth Works Hub has gathered 26 fully funded ESC volunteering and humanitarian aid placements open in October 2026 across 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Croatia, Czechia, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Mauritania, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Tรผrkiye and Uganda. Czechia hosts 10 of the calls, all supporting people with disabilities or special educational needs, elderly people with memory disorders or adults after psychiatric treatment, while eight humanitarian aid placements take volunteers to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Mauritania, Serbia and Uganda. Each call has its own angle:
๐ฑ๐น Lithuania: a care centre in Kaunas offers music therapy, dog therapy and outdoor walks for children and young people with disabilities.
๐ฒ๐ท Mauritania: a 28-week humanitarian aid role in Nouakchott supports the monitoring and evaluation system of a humanitarian health programme.
๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan: in Sumgait, volunteers run English conversation clubs, creative workshops and storytelling for children and young people.
๐ธ๐ช Sweden: an ecovillage in Visby combines permaculture gardening with workshops and documentary screenings on sustainability.
๐ช๐ธ Spain: an occupational centre in Sant Cugat del Vallรจs runs a music group, a football team and TV and radio projects with adults with disabilities.
๐ญ๐ท Croatia: a 30-week project in Vukovar mixes STEM workshops, public events and social media work with young people.
๐ท๐ด Romania: a team in Bucharest supports young Ukrainian refugees through non-formal education and mentoring.
๐จ๐ฟ Czechia: a mental health centre in Tลinec supports adults after psychiatric treatment, including through activities with horses.
Taken together, the batch suits young people who want hands-on work with people who need support, from children with disabilities and refugees to elderly people, alongside ecovillage life in Sweden and communications roles in Serbia and Georgia. European Solidarity Corps volunteering is fully funded: travel, accommodation, food, pocket money and insurance are covered. According to Youth Works Hub's review, four calls are open as soon as possible, and 10 calls close on 15 November 2026, all of them in Czechia.

What do these fully funded ESC placements cover?
European Solidarity Corps volunteering is fully funded, covering travel, accommodation, food, pocket money and insurance. Several calls also list language support, such as Catalan lessons in Sant Cugat del Vallรจs, support to learn the local language in Kampala and free online language learning tools in Kaunas. Who can apply for these ESC and humanitarian aid placements?
Most calls are for young people aged 18-30, while the Sumgait humanitarian aid placement is for candidates aged 18-35 and open exclusively to citizens of Tรผrkiye. The creative workshops in Ankara are for female volunteers, the two Uganda calls are for people with no previous EU volunteering experience over five months, and the Tserovani and Novi Pazar media calls for those with none over three months. Which ESC deadline comes first?
Four calls are open as soon as possible, and the first dated call, the youth work and social inclusion project in Vukovar, closes on 16 October 2026. Five humanitarian aid calls close on 23 October and the 10 Czechia placements on 15 November, while the refugee support team in Bucharest stays open until 1 December 2026.
