We aim to equip 32 youth workers with tools to connect ecology and peacebuilding, addressing climate change, conflict and social cohesion while strengthening peaceful, sustainable communities.

Common Ground brings together people who want to explore the connection between ecology and peacebuilding. Together, we will look at how environmental issues can contribute to conflict, but also how nature, cooperation, and shared resources can become powerful spaces for dialogue, connection, and peace.

Through non-formal education, experiential learning, creative methods, and time in nature, we will explore practical tools that youth workers can use to engage young people with environmental peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and collective action.

What you will take away from this:

To build participants understanding of the interlinkages between ecology, climate change, and peacebuilding, exploring how environmental issues fuel conflict and how peacebuilding approaches can promote ecological justice.

To equip participants with practical tools and methods for eco-peacebuilding, including conflict transformation in environmental disputes, eco-anxiety support, and community resilience practices.

To strengthen participant’s competences in facilitating dialogue and cooperation across divides (generational, cultural, political) in the context of ecological challenges and sustainability transitions.

To foster creative and community-based approaches for promoting a culture of peace through ecological action, such as storytelling, artivism, conflict transformation, and participatory futures thinking.

To support participants in designing at least 5 local eco-peacebuilding initiatives in their communities.

To strengthen international cooperation among youth workers, building networks, exchanging good practices, and fostering collaboration for future European eco-peacebuilding initiatives.

Travel reimbursement

travel to Evian-les-bains with a limit of: France — from 56 to 200 euros, depending on the distance (green travel required: train, bus); Germany, Italy — 285 euros (if traveling green, if not — 200 euros); Cyprus — 395 euros; Spain, Serbia, Portugal, Kosovo — 300 euros;
