🇹🇷 ESC Volunteering in Türkiye 🥋 Inclusive Sport at a Para Taekwondo Training Camp ♿

Description

The volunteering activity will take place in Ankara, Türkiye, between 10-25th October 2026 , as part of the Türkiye National Para-Taekwondo Team Training Camp .

Volunteers from different European countries will support the Türkiye Taekwondo Federation in the organisation and daily implementation of the training camp. Tasks may include preparing training areas and equipment, assisting with organisational and logistical activities, supporting athletes and coaches, helping with daily coordination, and contributing to sports, youth and cultural exchange activities.

A key focus will be inclusive sports and para-taekwondo. Volunteers interested in disability inclusion and equal participation in sport are especially welcome. Previous experience is not required; empathy, respect, openness and willingness to learn are more important.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be provided in Ankara, at a location as close as reasonably possible to the activity and training facilities to minimise daily travel time.

Rooms will normally be shared by 2–3 volunteers of the same gender.

Volunteers will receive a daily pocket allowance and meals or a food allowance during the activity.

Local transportation required for project activities will be organised and covered according to the applicable project rules.

Travel costs and other eligible expenses will be reimbursed in line with the project rules and relevant procedures.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive orientation training upon arrival in Ankara, covering the city, local services, the Türkiye Taekwondo Federation, the training camp, volunteering roles, safety procedures and daily tasks. Federation staff will provide ongoing guidance throughout the activity. Special attention will be given to inclusive sports, para-taekwondo and respectful interaction with athletes with disabilities, with emphasis on dignity, independence and individual needs.

Participant profile

We are looking for 12 volunteers who:

Are patient, responsible and enjoy teamwork

Are adaptable and able to work flexible hours when required by the activity programme

Have a positive, friendly, smiling and sportive personality

Are interested in sports, youth work and volunteering

Have an interest in inclusive sports and social inclusion

Are sensitive to and interested in working with people with disabilities and para-athletes

Are willing to support athletes, coaches, organisers and other participants

Are respectful of individual differences and able to communicate with empathy

Are comfortable working in an international and multicultural team

Are open-minded and interested in learning, innovation and personal development

Are motivated to gain practical experience in the organisation of a national sports training camp

Are willing to learn about para-taekwondo and the experiences of athletes with disabilities

Previous experience in taekwondo, para-sports, disability-related activities or competitive sports is an advantage but is not a requirement.

We particularly welcome young people who are motivated to learn about disability inclusion through sport and contribute to creating an accessible, respectful and supportive sporting environment.
