Sportive Horizons is a fully funded Erasmus+ Training Course bringing 26 youth workers to the mountain village of Agros, Cyprus, from 8 to 16 October 2026, to explore how sport and tourism can become engines of entrepreneurship, employability and social inclusion for young people. Run under the Erasmus+ Programme (project code 2026-1-CY01-KA153-YOU-000391164) and hosted by the Cypriot non-profit Moufflons, this is a training activity for youth workers who want practical tools to turn ideas in the sports and tourism sectors into sustainable, community-building initiatives.
What Is Sportive Horizons About?
The project sits at the crossroads of sport, tourism and entrepreneurship, using youth work as the bridge between them. Over nine days, participants build the competencies to design, launch and evaluate entrepreneurial initiatives, and to pass that mindset on to the young people they work with back home.
🏆 It treats sport and tourism not just as activities, but as sectors where young people can build enterprises, employability and confidence.
🌱 It frames entrepreneurship as a tool for tackling real challenges: youth unemployment, social inclusion, gender inequality and environmental sustainability.
🤝 It is built on peer learning and the exchange of good practices between youth workers from across Europe.
The Objectives of the Project
The training works toward nine concrete objectives:
🎯 Strengthen the competencies of youth workers in entrepreneurship, with a focus on the sports and tourism sectors.
🛠️ Equip youth workers with practical tools for idea development, market analysis, business planning, funding, marketing and project implementation.
💡 Promote entrepreneurial thinking, innovation and creativity among young people through youth work.
🌟 Empower young people with fewer opportunities by using entrepreneurship to improve confidence, employability and transferable skills.
⚖️ Encourage entrepreneurship as a tool for addressing unemployment, social inclusion, gender inequality and environmental sustainability.
🏔️ Explore opportunities for sport and tourism based enterprises that contribute to local and regional development.

Who Can Apply?
This training is for active or aspiring youth workers who work directly with young people. The participant profile the organisers are looking for is clear:
🔞 Age 18 and above; in specific cases, participants aged 16 and above may be accepted.

The International Group
Sportive Horizons brings together 26 youth workers from six partner organisations, supported by three experienced trainers and facilitators, for a total of 29 people involved in the mobility.
🌍 Participating countries: 🇨🇾 Cyprus, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇭🇷 Croatia, 🇷🇸 Serbia, 🇮🇹 Italy and 🇬🇷 Greece.
♿ Around 31% of participants (8 youth workers) will be individuals with fewer opportunities, reflecting a strong commitment to inclusion and equal access.
⚖️ Each national team follows gender equality guidelines, aiming for a balanced 50/50 representation of male and female participants wherever possible.
Where You'll Stay: Agros and the Rodon Hotel
The training takes place in Agros, a picturesque mountain village in the Troodos region of Cyprus, famous for its rose products, handmade sweets, smoked meats and the centuries-old tradition of rosewater distillation. Surrounded by lush greenery and scenic trails, it offers a peaceful, authentic Cypriot setting.
🏨 Accommodation is at the Rodon Hotel and Resort, a 4-star hotel at 1,100 metres above sea level with panoramic valley and mountain views.
🛏️ The hotel has 154 rooms and facilities including two swimming pools, a spa centre, tennis court, fitness centre and multiple dining options offering Cypriot and international cuisine.
♿ It also provides conference facilities and is accessible for guests with disabilities.
📍 Agros sits roughly 45 km from both Limassol and Nicosia, a convenient base for exploring the Troodos Mountains.
What's Covered and How Reimbursement Works
According to Youth Works Hub's review of the infopack, this is a fully funded Erasmus+ training:
💶 There is no participation fee.
🍽️ Food, accommodation and local travel during the activity programme are covered by the grant from the National Agency of Cyprus of the Erasmus+ Programme.
✈️ Travel is reimbursed based on real, cheapest-route costs, up to the maximum amount set per country: 🇩🇪 Germany €395.00, 🇭🇷 Croatia €309.00, 🇷🇸 Serbia €309.00, 🇮🇹 Italy €309.00 and 🇬🇷 Greece €309.00.
🚌 A joint airport transfer between the airport and the hotel is arranged; €15 per person is deducted from the reimbursement to cover it, unless you inform the organisers in advance that you won't use it.
📑 Reimbursement is by bank transfer to the partner organisation, only after the originals (receipts, invoices, boarding passes and reimbursement claims) are received by post, the National Agency form is completed, all participants complete the online Mobility Tool evaluation, and dissemination is done.
🧾 Before buying any ticket, send your proposed itinerary with itemised cost to the organisers for confirmation; invoices from taxis and travel agencies are not accepted, and flight tickets need the original or electronic invoice to be reimbursed.
🛡️ Insurance is not reimbursed: each participant must arrange their own cover for travel, accident and serious illness as defined in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide.
Good to Know Before You Travel
Cyprus is part of the EU but not in the Schengen Zone, so check visa requirements for your nationality; for most EU citizens and many third-country nationals, no visa is required for short stays. Most participants arrive via Larnaca (LCA) or Paphos (PFO) international airports.
🚗 Driving is on the left-hand side of the road, and most cars are right-hand drive.
🔌 Cyprus uses Type G plugs (three rectangular pins), 230V and 50Hz, so you may need an adapter.
💶 The official currency is the Euro (€).
🕒 The time zone is Eastern European Time (UTC+2), or UTC+3 during summer daylight saving.
🗣️ The official languages are Greek and Turkish, and English is widely spoken, especially in cities.
🌤️ In mid-October, Agros is pleasantly warm, with daytime temperatures typically between 24°C and 27°C.
🚰 Tap water is safe for brushing teeth, but bottled water is recommended for drinking, and used toilet paper goes in the bins provided, not down the toilet.
📱 If you are not from the EU, local prepaid SIM or eSIM cards are available at airports, shops or online.
🆘 The general emergency number is 112, valid across the EU.
About the Organiser: Moufflons
Moufflons is a registered non-profit association based in Cyprus, dedicated to empowering youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through sport and non-formal education. Frequently Asked Questions
❓ Is Sportive Horizons fully funded? Yes. There is no participation fee, and food, accommodation and local transport during the programme are covered by the Erasmus+ grant. Travel is reimbursed up to the per-country limits listed above.
❓ Do I need to be an experienced entrepreneur? No. You need basic experience in non-formal education and a genuine interest in entrepreneurship, plus experience working with young people facing barriers. The training builds the practical business skills.
