🇸🇮 Erasmus+ Training Course in Slovenia 🎶 Creative Circles: Voices — Voice, Music and Storytelling in Youth Work 🌿

Your voice is the one instrument you always carry with you — shaped by your breath, body and emotions — yet most of us rarely explore what it can do. Creative Circles: Voices is an Erasmus+ Training Course that invites youth workers to experiment with voice not as something that has to sound "right", but as a tool for self-expression, connection and participation. It runs on a forested hilltop near Litija, Slovenia, from 26 October to 1 November 2026. Youth Works Hub gathers funded training for youth workers, and this is a hands-on, outdoors, non-formal one, so here is everything the organisers shared.

What It's About

🎶 Creative Circles: Voices is an exploratory training course for youth workers, educators, mentors, facilitators and trainers in non-formal learning. Through music, singing, rhythm, improvisation, storytelling and embodied practices, participants explore their relationship with their own voice — what they want to express, what is harder to express, and what happens when different voices meet.

🌿 It is based on experiential, non-formal learning — learning by doing, experimenting, reflecting and creating together, rather than learning to sing or perform. A significant part of the programme takes place outdoors, with nature as an active element of the process, and visiting practitioners bring different approaches to voice, music and storytelling throughout the week.

The Learning Journey: Three Focuses

🔎 Finding My Voice — exploring voice as an embodied experience through body, breath, resonance, movement, sound, singing, improvisation and silence.

🗣️ Expressing My Voice — using music and storytelling to give voice to experiences, emotions, ideas and stories, and exploring what it means to let ourselves be heard.

🤝 Voices Together — what happens when different voices meet, through group singing, rhythm, listening, improvisation, storytelling and collective creation — and how youth workers can support young people in finding and using their own voices.

🎇 The journey closes with a Circle of Voices, a shared evening where participants offer something that emerged during the week. Together, participants also collect and document methods and exercises to adapt in their own youth work.

Who It's For

👥 Youth workers, educators, mentors, facilitators and trainers who are curious about using creative and embodied approaches with young people.

🎵 No previous musical, singing or storytelling experience is needed — only openness and curiosity. The course is for 30 participants, with English as the working language.

What's Covered

💶 No participation fee.

🏠 Accommodation and food are funded by the Erasmus+: Youth programme.

✈️ Travel is reimbursed by distance band (green travel is encouraged and better funded): 10–99 km €56/€28; 100–499 km €285/€211; 500–1,999 km €417/€309; 2,000–2,999 km €535/€395 (green/non-green).

👶 Childcare is available during the programme for mothers with young children (note: Erasmus+ funding does not cover the child's travel, accommodation and food).

🏕️ Accommodation is at a forested hilltop location near Litija, in shared rooms or a tent if you prefer (tents can be provided); as it is autumn, a warm sleeping bag is recommended.
