Description
We focus on soil restoration, permaculture, growing food sustainably and building a strong community while doing it. This experience supports healthy soil, minimise the need for harmful chemicals and promotes sustainable farming practices.
What youโll do:
- Design, plant and harvest crops for a full season
- Prune and maintain
- Make compost
- Manage water
- Preserve food
- Save seeds
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Comfortable accommodation will be provided for all volunteers. The specific accommodation arrangements will be discussed individually with each volunteer, taking their preferences and needs into consideration.
Every afternoon and weekends you are free to explore the area and enjoy the Peloponnesos. Bikes are available on the farm and we are happy to organize your lift to the city where you can reach different part of Greece with buses.
We cooking mainly vegetarian melas twice a day, with vegetables from the garden and local organic products. We bake our sourdough bread every Friday in the cob wood oven. We eating together lunch and dinner and rotating cooking and clinging/dishes tasks (from Monday to Friday).
Training during the activity
During the project you will be provided with guidance to explore new ways of creating engaging, story-telling through images. You will have an opportunity to learn about permaculture gardening, regenerative agriculture, self-sufficiency skills, community living etc
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated and open-minded volunteer interested in nature, permaculture, sustainable farming and community life. No previous experience is required, just willingness to learn and get your hands dirty! The ideal participant enjoys outdoor and practical work, is responsible, curious and willing to contribute to a friendly community while learning about soil restoration, growing food, composting, water management and food preservation.
