Description
Dynamo International is a youth service for 13- to 25-year-olds, supporting them through the questions and challenges of daily life — school, family, or social relationships. Our specialty is mobility: helping young people bring their projects to life, in Belgium and abroad, through camps, youth exchanges, ESC placements, working holidays, and more. As a volunteer, you'll co-run weekly socio-cultural activities, help organize camps, and support youth exchanges — while gaining a first-hand experience of mobility yourself. You'll also help spread the word about Dynamo International's projects during sensibilisation in schools or others organisations.
Your creative ideas won't just be welcome here, they'll shape what we do next.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will leave in an apartment above our office with fellow volunteers.
Your living include a private room, while the kitchen, bathroom, and living room will be communal spaces. At the beginning of each month, you will receive allowance for food and personal expenses. A public transport annual ticket will be provided. There may be instances where your volunteering responsibilities extend to unsociable hours or weekends.
The role is 30h per week, and you will be entitled to your month leave. You should advise us of any medical conditions that might impact your ability to volunteer effectively.
Training during the activity
You'll take part in an on-arrival training and a mid-term training, both run by the National Agency
Participant profile
You're between 18 and 25, and you've got that mix of curiosity and follow-through: ideas come easily to you, and so does the energy to actually try them out. You're creative, open-minded, and resourceful, the kind of person who finds a way when the obvious solution isn't available, and who sees an unfamiliar situation as something to figure out rather than something to avoid. Comfort zones don't scare you; if anything, you're looking for a project that will push you a little.
You're naturally sociable and dynamic, and you genuinely enjoy being around young people, especially those who don't always get the same opportunities as everyone else. Whether it's through games, conversation, or just showing up consistently, you know how to build trust with a group and bring out their energy rather than talk over it. You've likely already animated or worked with youngsters before, in a club, a camp, a school, or somewhere similar, and you're ready to bring that experience (plus your own new ideas) into the team.
This isn't a role spent entirely in the field. A good part of the work happens behind a screen too, preparing activities, coordinating with partners, handling communication and social media, so you should be just as comfortable sitting down to plan and organize as you are leading a group.
Speaking French is a plus, but it's not a dealbreaker: if you don't speak it yet, what matters more is that you're motivated to learn on the job, and that you're not afraid of the awkward moments that come with getting there.
