Description
Drömstort is a non-profit organisation creating opportunities and positive futures for young people in Stockholm. Through our youth centre, mentoring, educational support, community activities and social projects, we provide a safe space where young people can meet, develop skills and take an active role in their community.
We are looking for two motivated and creative ESC volunteers to join our team as Youth Center Leaders from autumn 2026 until July 2027. Volunteers will support the daily work at our youth centre in Rågsved, creating a safe and inclusive environment for young people. They will plan and lead activities, support young people's ideas, participate in social projects and community events, and contribute to communication and social media through photos, videos and digital content. Volunteers will work closely with staff, young people and other volunteers and take part in team meetings, training and project evaluation.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be provided with accommodation in Stockholm for the duration of their volunteering period. They will receive the ESC food allowance and pocket money in accordance with the European Solidarity Corps programme.
A monthly public transport card will be provided to support travel between the accommodation, youth centre and other project activities. We will also provide guidance and support with practical matters related to settling in Stockholm.
Training during the activity
Volunteers receive an introduction to Drömstort, the youth centre, safeguarding, communication and working with young people. Throughout the placement, they receive ongoing guidance and training in youth work, activity planning, leadership, project management, community engagement and social media. Regular mentor meetings and feedback support their learning. Volunteers are also encouraged to participate in relevant workshops, seminars and Online Language Support (OLS) to strengthen their skills and language development.
Participant profile
We are looking for motivated ESC volunteers aged 18–30 who enjoy working with young people and communities. Participants should be social, responsible, open-minded, creative and willing to take initiative. They should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and interested in organising activities, events, communication, social media and digital content creation. Flexibility, willingness to learn and intercultural openness are essential.
