Description
During this project, you will take part in several activities:
- Second-hand item review: Learn about sorting and preparing donated items for reuse, working alongside people at risk of social exclusion within a circular economy framework.
- Space decoration: Contribute creative ideas to improve the presentation of second-hand shops and clothing.
- Social and employment orientation: Observe and support training activities within the Social Integration Enterprise.
- Food Bank (Economat): Assist with food distribution, organization, record-keeping and donation collection.
- English activities at primary schools: Help organize occasional English conversation groups for children.
- Recycling center: Visit and learn about the recycling center's operations, participate in daily activities and share ideas or experiences from your home country.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
- Accommodation: Deixant Empremta will host the volunteers in rented apartments in Solsona. Each accommodation will assure good living conditions (private beds, equipped kitchen and bathroom, heating system, running cold and hot water, Wi-fi).
- Travel: You will have to buy the flight tickets, but Deixant Empremta will reimburse few days after arriving to Solsona. The Sending Organisation will make sure that the volunteer is well-informed, has all documents and gets safely on board.
- We offer pick-up from the airport on the arrival.
Participant profile
- Aged between 18 to 30 years old
- Willing to work in a second-hand shop
- Active, open-minded, creative, responsible and motivated
- Good level of English
- Basic level of Spanish
