The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is a major philanthropic initiative working to help tackle the climate crisis by fostering the development of a net-zero emission society at the national, European and global level. ECF supports more than 800 partner organisations to carry out activities that drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement, contribute to the public debate on climate action, and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.
About This Role
ECF's Strategic Partnerships (SP) team is responsible for securing funding and nurturing relationships with existing and new philanthropic funding partners. This role supports the funder communications function within the SP team, contributing to strengthening ECF's engagement with its funders.
Responsibilities
✍️ Drafting content for case studies, pitches, reports and other documents relating to ECF's activities and programmes, particularly for new funder audiences
📡 Supporting the smooth running of funder communications channels, including pitching and piloting new communication methods
🎙️ Supporting the smooth running of funder engagement events such as webinars
🛡️ Supporting implementation of communications risk management measures
🗺️ Mapping funder communication and publicity preferences, and strengthening processes to maintain compliance
📰 Monitoring philanthropy news and establishing a process to update the SP team and wider organisation on articles, trends and developments regularly
🔄 Contributing to other internal communications about ECF's fundraising and partnerships
📚 Maintaining and expanding internal content libraries, identifying and responding to gaps and opportunities for improvement
🗂️ Supporting maintenance of quality information in fundraising databases
🤝 Providing additional communications, research and administrative support to the SP team as needed

Experience and Competencies
🎓 Currently enrolled at Master's level (fields such as communications, international development, or climate-related degrees preferred)
🌍 A genuine interest in the mission and values of ECF
💬 Experience or interest in philanthropy, fundraising, communications, or persuasive writing
📝 Strong writing skills and an ability to understand and distil complex information for varied audiences
🧩 Proven ability to work independently and be a creative problem-solver
🤝 A team player with a positive attitude and an appetite to learn
💻 Strong administrative and computer skills, and fluent in English

Location and Eligibility
This position is based in Paris (offered as a possible location for the role alongside London). Candidates must have the pre-existing right to live and work in France.
Start Date
As soon as possible, but flexible for the right candidate based on university cycles.
