About the DTM REMAP Project
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Regional Evidence for Migration Analysis and Policy (REMAP) project was developed in response to the critical need to collect and analyze information on protracted displacement and human mobility in, to and from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and to contribute to evidence-based humanitarian and development programming in these countries and in the region. Working under the overall supervision of the Global DTM Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manager of the DTM REMAP project based in Berlin, Germany, the intern will support the concerned unit for the smooth implementation of ongoing work.
Responsibilities
๐ Assist in researching and drafting dashboards and prepare data for flash information sheets, papers and reports describing and analyzing human mobility of Afghan, Bangladeshi, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Pakistani, Tajik and Uzbek nationals inside their countries and across international borders, in both English and Russian language
๐ Assist in compiling, analyzing and visualizing human mobility data within Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan for DTM REMAP reporting purposes, in both English and Russian language
๐ ๏ธ Support the development and implementation of supplementary and interoperable systems for quality assurance and further improvement of DTM REMAP data and analysis
๐ Support in analysing new assignments, developing scripts and tests to validate data, handling change requests and providing quick and efficient solutions to data sourcing issues
๐๏ธ Support in building requirements, metadata, backup procedures, and process documentation, and the overall management of the dataset addition process
๐ค Work with various parts of the global DTM Support team to ensure that content is delivered on time, regardless of system issues, and that the format and structure support the operational requirements
๐พ Support the development of data queries for internal use as required, as well as one-time data pulls from the database as requested
๐ Ensure that the implementation of the information management systems and application adheres to IOM Data Protection Policy and Information Technology and Communication (ITC) Policies and Standards, including on system and data security
โ Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Who Can Apply
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field, with two years of relevant professional experience (accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database). In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities; who are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom an internship is required to complete their studies; or who are sponsored by governmental, non-governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor. Applicants should be either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months, and be between 20 and 36 years of age.
Experience
๐ Experience in compiling, collecting, and analyzing data from different sources, structured and unstructured

Skills

Languages
IOM's official languages are English, French and Spanish, and all staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three. For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
