🔷 Activity Details
Description
The Maison de l'Europe (MdE) Angers & Maine-et-Loire offers information sessions about the European Union to various audiences and organizes events to promote better knowledge of the cultural, economic and social aspects of the EU member states. Its actions are carried out through four main lines of work : pedagogy, education, culture, debate and resource centre. The MdE Angers & Maine-and-Loire is a none-profit organisation. The volunteer will participate in several missions: - To prepare and carry out educational activities in schools, training centres by creating of recreational tools around Europe, its values, its institutions, European citizenship, interculturality and mobility... - To share his/her experience as a young European. - To participe in the Europe Month events - To create contents for social networks about his/her country, culture and langage - The volunteer will be able to carry out a personal project (relating to European themes) that is important for him/her.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will be accommodated in a furnished room with a bathroom. A communal kitchen is available for preparing meals. The volunteer will receive pocket money for activities. A laundry, a gym and a computer room as well as internet access are available. Transport costs for the mission are covered by the association. The flat is located in the city centre, near the Maison de l’Europe.
Training during the activity
The team will be actively involved to help, to support the volunteer in learning French. However, the working language can be English. The missions will enable the volunteer to acquire skills in creation of educational contents, project management, intercultural activities and to discover the functioning of a French association, to experience teamwork and cooperation with different partners and implement his personal initiative. All these acquired skills will be included in the Youthpass, to allow the volunteer to use these skills in the future.
Participant profile
We will prioritize the volunteer’s motivation and interest in the mission and not so much his/her qualifications, education, training and professional experiences. A career linked to the field of Europe, youth activity management, languages or even tourism or law can be interesting for our association but we will be especially attentive to the person’s knowhow and human qualities rather than technical skills. The required qualities for this voluntary service are as follows: curiosity, dynamism, creativity, ability to work well in a team as well as independently, adaptability and interest in Europe.
