UNDP is the UN Development Programme and works in some 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. UNDP helps countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and to build resilience in order to sustain development results, supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The People Programmes and Partnership (PPP) Unit is part of the UNDP Office of Human Resources. Established in Copenhagen in early 2020, it builds on the UNDP Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Service Centre set-up and includes the JPO Service Centre. The PPP unit is responsible for the development, roll-out, oversight and implementation of externally funded Talent Programmes and other programmes targeting specific groups of early professionals and senior technical experts, including the JPO programme, Graduate Programme, Fellowship programmes and Technical Expert programme. Under the authority of the Chief of PPP and the supervision of the HR Associate, the intern will contribute to the development and maintenance of client-oriented services and ensure that the JPO Service Centre and PPP deliver a model of excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will assist in the following duties and responsibilities:

๐Ÿ“Š Human Resources Reporting (about 30% of time): assist in retrieving, analysing and compiling the results of the annual satisfaction surveys targeting JPO Service Centre clients, including reviewing and updating the survey questionnaires, sending out the JPO/SDP annual satisfaction survey and monitoring participation, compiling and analysing survey results, preparing various presentations on survey results, and supporting other HR reporting activities as applicable

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ผ Support to PPP Recruitment Activities (about 30% of time): coordinate interviews, solicit reference checks, draft interview reports, and other related support to recruitment as applicable

๐Ÿ“š Supporting other JPO Service Centre and PPP activities (about 40% of time): assist preparations for JPO pre-departure briefings, assist in the preparation of presentation materials for learning activities, assist and support learning and development activities, manage the Global Coffee Roulette project, and support any ad hoc activities related to the JPOSC-managed programmes

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements: be currently in the final year of a bachelor's degree; be currently enrolled in a master's degree; or have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a master's degree or equivalent studies. Field of study: social or political science, economics, business administration, human resources, communications or equivalent. Prior experience in reporting is an asset. IT skills: working knowledge and proficient user of the Microsoft Office programmes (particularly MS Excel); knowledge and experience of graphic design, reporting software and data visualization is an asset. As a full member of the PPP team, the intern will participate in in-house training opportunities, learn the structure, mechanisms, policies and practice areas of UNDP, participate in dedicated trainings and UNDP online learning tools, network with approximately 2000 personnel from 11 UN organizations at UN City, and enjoy free membership at the UN City Gym.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset.

All expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern or their sponsoring entity. UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents, illness or death incurred during the internship. Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station, and must provide proof of enrolment in a health insurance plan.
