This position is located in the Office of the Director in the UN Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), Office of Support Operations (OSO), Department of Operational Support (DOS). The Department of Operational Support was established to provide end-to-end operational support, advisory services and other solutions to operating entities across the Secretariat, including departments, offices away from headquarters, peace operations, and regional commissions. DHMOSH provides services to Secretariat entities as well as to New York-based Agencies, Funds, and Programmes, including medical entitlement administration, occupational safety and health, medical workforce management, clinical governance, the UN System Medical Emergency Response Strategy, patient safety and public health. The Secretariat's counselling services are also located within DHMOSH.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Medical Director, the intern may have responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:
๐ฉบ Assist in the development of health-related projects for DHMOSH
๐ Develop Power BI reports and other data visualization reports of health-related data
๐ Contribute to the monitoring of the latest health policy developments relevant for DHMOSH
๐ Assist in preparing official documents, while ensuring grammar, content and formatting are accurate
๐ Conduct research, including document, medical and psychosocial policies, and internet searches

Qualifications and Skills
The team is looking for applicants who will demonstrate their intention to study further or work in a field relevant to the work of DHMOSH. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher); be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree. Applicants should also have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter, and a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Risk or crisis management and/or emergency care background is desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. An orientation in statistical data analytics is desirable, and a Public Health or Data Management background is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Additional Information
For internships in the United States of America, interns who are not United States citizens, permanent residents, or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 visa) status will be required to obtain a G4 visa. Interns will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and if required, employment authorization (CPT/OPT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
