Description
Solidarity Shores (SOLIDMAR) is a European Solidarity Corps project empowering young people to protect marine ecosystems and support fishing communities affected by climate change. The first volunteering team will bring together 30 young people from Spain, Portugal and Türkiye for 38 days in Cambados (Galicia, Spain). Volunteers will participate in coastal clean-ups, recycling initiatives and environmental awareness events. You will work alongside local fishers, learn about sustainable fishing practices, document traditional knowledge, and contribute to real solutions.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will be living a Pazo (Casa dos Maza, situated on a hill overlooking Ría de Arousa. The house offers comfortable accommodations for volunteers, featuring shared double or triple rooms that foster interaction among volunteers from various countries. The house features a shared kitchen, each bedroom has a private bathroom, outdoor area (such as a big garden, terrace)..
Training during the activity
The volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the host organisation team regarding to the activities and mobility. The volunteers have the right and obligation to attend following the pre-departure training.
