🔷 Activity Details

Description

Join KINITRO in Athens for a 60-day European Solidarity Corps experience focused on disability awareness, inclusion and active citizenship.

Volunteers will receive intensive training and then help plan and facilitate interactive disABILITY AWAREness workshops in schools, workplaces and civil society organisations.

Using non-formal education, simulations and discussion, you will support participants to better understand disability, accessibility, equity and inclusion.

You will develop communication, facilitation, teamwork, organisation and leadership skills while working in an inclusive, intercultural environment.

Volunteers with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be arranged by KINITRO in a safe, comfortable and accessible location close to the organisation in Moschato, Athens.

Volunteers will have suitable living conditions and their dietary needs, allergies or restrictions will be taken into account.

KINITRO will provide practical support for local public transport, airport arrival/departure and transport connected to project activities.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive intensive training on disability, accessibility, inclusion, appropriate terminology and non-formal education methods, together with a Volunteer Guide, workshop materials and presentations.

They will join KINITRO’s monthly “Labyrinth of Training”, receive orientation on life in Greece and communication tools, and have ongoing mentor support.

Learning outcomes will be reflected on and documented through Youthpass/Europass.

Participant profile

We are looking for motivated young people interested in inclusion, disability awareness, education, youth work and community engagement.

Applicants should be open-minded, respectful, willing to learn, comfortable working in a team and interested in facilitating workshops.

Previous professional experience is not essential; motivation, commitment and willingness to engage with diverse communities are key.

KINITRO welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, including young people with disabilities and fewer opportunities.
