Description

From Parkeri NGO ( https://www.instagram.com/asociacionparkeri/ ) we are looking for 1 volunteer to develop the activities "YOUTH WORK and HIGH SCHOOL in SIERRA NORTE"

 a) Supporting the activities of social animation in the town of Puentes Viejas (Ludoteca, carnival, local events, children with non-formal education methodologies). Mainly in Mangirón.

 b) Supporting the team of teachers in the High School IES La Cabrera. During the language lessons, the radio workshop, the breaks… also increasing the international dimensión of the life of the teenageres and youngsters of Sierra Norte. 

c) Supporting Parkeri Team in the promotion of international opportunities for young people such as EU Solidarity Corps, International volunteering camps, Erasmus + Youth… and also in the organization of national and international training courses connected with emotions, self-awareness, interculturality, participation,…

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

We are located in a very small village, Serrada de la Fuente, Madrid, Spain. Serrada de la Fuente is located one hour and a half by car from Madrid city center and 3 hours away by public transport. Serrada de la Fuente is a beautiful area in the mountains in Madrid, totally rural with 76 inhabitants ( https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serrada_de_la_Fuente ). Parkeri NGO will be in charge of accommodation (one house for you and other volunteers to live), for food and transport arrangements according to the European Solidarity Corps standards.

Training during the activity

Parkeri NGO staff are experts on the European Solidarity Corps (trainers on the Programme since 2014), so constant support will be provided to the volunteers. Mandatory trainings, like On Arrival training and Mid Term Evaluation, will be developed according to the Spanish National Agency calendar. Learning and emotional support will be provided in the monthly mentorship meetings and Youthpass will be given at the end of the volunteers' projects. We will also offer the volunteers to participate in trainings connected with non-violent communication, and other non-formal education trainings

Participant profile

Due to the nature of this volunteer project, in a rural area and that will work with young people in risk of exclusion, we need: - High motivation in learning and growing as Youth Worker and Community worker. - High motivation to accompany children and youngsters with a caring and supportive approach - Person committed and mature to hold maybe difficult situations and willingness to learn about Youth Work - Negative certificate of sexual misdemeanors - Negative certificate of criminal/penal misdemeanors - High motivation to develop the project in a rural area in the mountains.
