Description
Do you like rural countryside life and beautiful nature? "Haus Wildtierland" in North-East Germany is a place that offers unique nature experiences for children and adults. It is located in the foothills of the Brohmer Berge in the region of Western Pomerania. It is surrounded by fields and forests, which are managed ecologically and in a wildlife-friendly manner by the neighbouring Klepelshagen Estate of the German Wildlife Foundation. The areas are home to a unique community of flora and fauna. The team organises school trips, holiday camps, project weeks, seminars and conferences. We have many years of experience hosting local volunteers. Starting in September 2026 we offer a position in our house for a volunteer in the European Solidarity Corps programme. Will it be you? Please apply via the application form: https://turbina-pomerania.org/en/esc +++Applicants who do not fill the application form cannot be considered+++
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation will be in a shared apartment 500m from "Haus Wildtierland". You will have your own room, and share a small kitchen and bathroom with other local volunteers. You will receive food allowance each month and are responsible for your meals yourself. You will receive a monthly travel ticket. It is possible to borrow a bicycle for the duration of your mobility. Please know that the location is very rural, and the next train station requires a 30min bicycle ride (no buses). It is possible to borrow a car and drive to the next bigger city. It would be great if you have a driving license.
Training during the activity
You will participate in two seminar weeks organized by the German national agency: the on arrival training and midterm evaluation. Both take place somewhere in Germany, together with other ESC volunteers. Moreover, you will be part of the international seminar group of our coordinating organisation "Turbina Pomerania". You can find infos on the seminars here: https://turbina-pomerania.org/en/seminars . Lastly, we offer a German class with a professional German teacher which takes place online. It would be great if you have previous knowledge in German.
Participant profile
We are looking for an open-minded person interested in nature, environmental education, sustainable development and the work with children/young adults. You should be aware that our organisation is located very rural - this comes with challenges, but also offers many opportunities, especially for people who are looking for a time away from hectic life and tend to your own ideas, projects, art and/or self-care. No previous knowledge required. Please note: we only accept applications through the application form of our coordinating organisation "Turbina Pomerania". On their page you can also find pictures & some more info about us. Please apply with a quick text here and let us know: Do you have any previous knowledge in German? Do you have a driver's license that allows you to drive a car in Germany? Then, please fill the form here: https://turbina-pomerania.org/en/esc . For any questions, please write to: application@turbina-pomerania.org
Attention: the voluntary service should necessarily begin in September 2026. We know that this is short notice. If you need a visa to come to Germany, please evaluate honestly if this can be managed on time. Thank you for your understanding.
