🔷 Activity Details
Description
ESC Team Volunteering "RENovaki" is a project focused on developing practical, hands-on skills such as cooking for groups, working with wood, and building a bread/pizza oven.
The project will bring together 9 young people to explore self-expression and connection through skill-building, community engagement, and intercultural collaboration, while living and working together in a shared environment.
Participants can expect a hands-on, immersive experience that combines creativity, learning, and community life.
They will take part in educational and craft-based activities aimed at promoting solidarity, strengthening intergenerational exchange, and fostering intercultural dialogue within the elderly in the local community.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
This is a camping-based project, and accommodation will be in tents set up in front of the house. Participants will stay in spacious tents (for 2-3 people), with only 1 person per tent, each having their own private sleeping space.
Each tent is equipped with sleeping bags, pillows, sheets, blankets, real mattresses, and a night lamp.
Next to the tents, there is a house with two cozy rooms used as chill areas or workspace, a kitchen with basic appliances, and a narrow terrace with a beautiful sunset view.
Sanitary facilities include shared bathrooms.
Training during the activity
The activity includes an ongoing learning and training component designed to support participants in developing both practical and interpersonal skills. Through a combination of hands-on workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and guided sessions, participants will be introduced to key areas such as group cooking, woodworking, and collaborative building processes. The training approach is experiential, encouraging learning by doing, reflection, and active participation.
Participant profile
The project is open to young people who are motivated to learn through hands-on experience and are comfortable engaging in practical, physically active tasks. It is especially suited for those with an interest in creative work, crafts, and collaborative building processes, as well as those willing to actively participate in group life and shared responsibilities.
It also welcomes participants who enjoy spending time in nature, value simple and outdoor living, and are open to a camping-based lifestyle with fresh air, shared spaces, and close connection to the natural environment. Participants should be ready to live in a basic outdoor setting and embrace the experience of community life in a rural, natural surroundings.
