🔷 Activity Details
Description
Join us as a European Solidarity Corps volunteer at Cēsis Youth House in Latvia! You will support youth workers in creating meaningful activities for children and young people, including creative workshops, cultural evenings, outdoor activities, digital content, local events and international projects. You will help young people develop new skills, express their ideas and become more active in their community. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to propose and lead their own initiatives based on their interests and talents. This is a chance to gain practical experience in youth work, learn about Latvian culture, develop teamwork and communication skills, and become part of a welcoming local community.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation, food allowance and local transport will be provided in accordance with European Solidarity Corps rules. International travel costs will be reimbursed within the project’s approved budget. The volunteer will also receive pocket money and insurance. Practical arrangements, including accommodation, travel, working hours and individual needs, will be discussed and agreed upon before the activity begins.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will receive pre-departure support from the sending organisation and an introduction upon arrival in Cēsis. Training will include orientation, safety, youth-work methods, intercultural learning and practical information about living in Latvia. The volunteer will participate in the ESC on-arrival and mid-term training sessions and receive regular mentoring, reflection meetings and support throughout the project.
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated and open-minded young person who enjoys working with children and young people. The volunteer should be interested in creating activities, workshops and community events, working in a team and sharing their culture. Creativity, responsibility and a willingness to learn are important. Previous experience is not required. We especially welcome participants with fewer opportunities and will provide individual support according to their needs.
