🇵🇹 ESC Volunteering in Portugal 🌿 Green Roots Sustainable Farming and Rural Life 🧑‍🌾

Description

This project combines sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, rural development and community engagement. Volunteers will take part in practical activities such as gardening, sustainable farming, environmental initiatives, educational workshops, community events and intergenerational activities. Through hands-on experiences, volunteers will help promote sustainability, preserve rural traditions and strengthen connections within the local community. The project encourages teamwork, creativity, intercultural exchange and personal development in an inclusive and welcoming environment, particularly supporting young people with fewer opportunities. Join us to discover Portuguese rural life, develop new skills and make a positive impact!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be provided with accommodation in Salzedas, a peaceful rural village in northern Portugal, where they can experience local culture and community life. Meals will be provided throughout their stay, ensuring their daily needs. Travel costs will be covered according to European Solidarity Corps rules. INOVTERRA will organise local transport for volunteering activities. Volunteers will also receive pocket money in accordance with programme guidelines. INOVTERRA provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment, encouraging learning, cultural exchange and community integration.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive an introduction to INOVTERRA, its activities and the local community. Practical training will cover sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, teamwork and community engagement.

Learning will take place through hands-on activities, workshops and non-formal education methods.

Volunteers will receive ongoing guidance and mentoring, with opportunities to develop personal, social and professional skills.

Participants will also have access to language learning support and Youthpass to recognise their learning achievements.
