🔷 Activity Details
Description
Join us as a European Solidarity Corps volunteer in Vecpiebalga, a rural area of Cēsis Municipality, Latvia. You will support youth workers and the local community by organising creative workshops, outdoor activities, cultural events, youth initiatives and activities in local youth centres and schools. You will help promote opportunities for rural young people, create digital content and participate in community events and international projects. Volunteers will be encouraged to develop their own initiatives based on their interests and talents. This opportunity offers practical experience in rural youth work, event organisation, intercultural learning and community development.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation, food allowance and local transport will be provided according to European Solidarity Corps rules. International travel costs will be reimbursed within the approved project budget. The volunteer will receive pocket money and insurance. Practical arrangements, including accommodation, transport, working hours and individual support needs, will be discussed and agreed upon before the activity begins.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will receive pre-departure support and an introduction upon arrival. Initial training will cover safety, youth-work methods, intercultural learning, rural community life and practical information about living in Latvia. The volunteer will participate in ESC on-arrival and mid-term training and receive regular mentoring, reflection meetings and ongoing support from the project team.
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated, responsible and open-minded young person who enjoys working with children, young people and local communities. The volunteer should be interested in organising activities, workshops and events, creating digital content and working in a team. Creativity and a willingness to learn are important. Previous experience is not required. We especially welcome participants with fewer opportunities and will provide individual support.
