The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe is looking for a Communications Officer to enhance its strategic communication, engagement and outreach efforts. As a representative body, the CCBE plays a vital role in defending the rule of law, human rights and access to justice.
The organisation is seeking a dynamic and proactive individual who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will drive internal and external communications, develop effective outreach tools, and initiate impactful communication strategies.
๐ค About the Role
As Communications Officer, you will work closely with the Digital Communications Officer and the Legal and Communications Advisor, under the supervision of the Head of Public Affairs. Your role will be instrumental in strengthening the CCBE's visibility, engagement and influence across various platforms.

๐ฃ Key Responsibilities
๐ External communication: support the organisation's outreach efforts, ensuring impactful messaging and engagement
๐ค Member communication: enhance and optimise communication with CCBE members, fostering stronger engagement and collaboration
๐ช๐บ EU relations: assist in CCBE communications aimed at European institutions and stakeholders
๐ฐ Media relations: build and manage relationships with journalists and key media outlets to amplify CCBE's messaging
โ๏ธ Internal workflows: help optimise the use of IT tools to streamline the CCBE's internal workflow and improve communication processes
๐ช Event management: assist in organising high-level events, conferences and public engagements
๐ค Executive support: provide communication assistance to the Secretary-General and Presidency for external interventions and international engagements, including identifying speaking opportunities, organising meetings and coordinating participation in international events
โ Education and Experience
๐ A university or specialised degree in communication or a relevant field from a recognised academic institution
๐ผ A minimum of two years of work experience in a communications role
๐ ๏ธ Knowledge and Skills
๐ช๐บ Proven experience in communication strategy in outreach activities towards the European institutions
๐ป Experience and strong interest in digital tools and project management is an asset
๐ค Experience working with a member-based organisation is an advantage
๐ฃ๏ธ Proficiency in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other language
