Who is this for?
This activity is designed for youth workers, trainers and facilitators active in the field of non-formal learning and youth work within Erasmus+. We are especially looking for participants who are primary caregivers of preschool-aged children (0โ7), or whose engagement in international mobility has been reduced or interrupted due to parenting responsibilities. Applicants should be motivated to contribute actively to the analytical, research and co-creation work at the heart of this activity โ this is not a passive training, but a working seminar.
Why this activity?
Caregiving responsibilities remain a structural barrier to professional mobility for many experienced youth workers. This activity brings together practitioners from Latvia, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Austria and Lithuania to examine that barrier directly โ through non-formal learning methods, peer exchange and research-based reflection โ and to turn shared experience into concrete tools for the wider Erasmus+ field.
What will we do?
- Analyse their professional realities using socio-ecological and iceberg models;
- Generate evidence on how caring responsibilities affect participation in international mobility;
- Co-create three practical outputs: a research report, an Inclusive Mobility Checklist, and a set of "calls to attention" for National Agencies.
A genuinely child-inclusive setting
Accompanying children (0โ7) are welcome and are part of daily seminar life. All families stay at the same venue as the training itself, in private en-suite rooms, with a dedicated Montessori-inspired children's space, a parent support person, and playground/outdoor access.

Participation fee
No participation fee.
Accommodation and food
This activity is fully funded by the Erasmus+ programme โ accommodation, meals and the training programme are covered for all registered participants, including, kids.
Travel reimbursement
Travel costs are reimbursed only for the participant (per the Erasmus+ distance band system), based on their home city to Jelgava. Travel costs for accompanying children or family members are not covered by the grant and must be arranged and paid for by the participant. Insurance for accompanying children is partially reimbursable.
