Description
The MJC is a nonprofit organization where we promote a non formal education. Our main goal is the development of active citizenship for young people and adults through the implementation of social and cultural activities, including entering the fields of leisure, sports, education and prevention. The mission : Scientific workshops with children. The tasks: -Help the team conduct science workshops: chemistry, biology, physics, astronomie, robotics, multimedia and 3D printing (MJC, schools, recreations centers,…), you will also can propose new activities. -Participate in the daily life of the organisation (events, etc.). - Participate in activities about mobility and European citizenship The activities are very varied and you will get the support of the staff. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Our organization is located in Elbeuf (Normandy).The closest big city is Rouen (30min by car, bus or train) and Paris (2h by train or car).You will stay in an apartment fully furnished (wifi, tv, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer...) and you will share it with the other volunteers. You'll have your own bedroom with a sharing bathroom and kitchen. This apartment is located in the city center, 5min walking from the MJC and close to many stores, cinema, bus and train station. Individual support: 8€ /day for pocket money and 8€ /day for the food (= 480€ for 30 days).
Training during the activity
Arrival and mid-term seminars - French workshops (4h/week). You'll be involved in the organisation of informative events cooperating with the local high schools and middle schools in Elbeuf area to promote European programs. You will be a support for after-school activities. Produce and edit visual materials through Canva (posters...) You will work 5 days per week, the activities are very varied and you will get the support of the staff (events, workshops…). During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to make your own project and also to work on a common project with 5 others volunteers.
Participant profile
You have between 18 – 30 years old, you are curious and love to be in contact with people from abroad, this project is made for you. You will be in contact with different audiences (children, youth and adults). No specific skills are required but a mindset of initiative and adaptability will get you through! You will have the chance to live in an intercultural environement with other flatmates and share your experience with them but also will the local community. We only take in consideration the application made through the plateform.
