Do you want to understand how the EU really makes policy and gain hands-on experience in the field? The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) is looking for an intern to join its EU policy-making team in Maastricht.

About EIPA

The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) was created in 1981 on the occasion of the first European Council held in Maastricht and is supported by the EU Member States and the European Commission. Its core mission is to provide a mix of deep insights and practical knowledge about EU policies to all professionals related to EU public affairs, with the key objective of further improving their skills and capabilities for the effective management of policies. In addition to the Maastricht-based headquarters, EIPA has a centre in Luxembourg, the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers (ECJL).

The Position

Understanding how the EU works and how to participate effectively in its policies has become increasingly important, and increasingly challenging, for European public officials. Administrations today operate in a multilevel setting involving many different actors and a multiplicity of EU decision-making processes that shape most aspects of Europeans' lives, so public officials and stakeholders need to master a growing range of new tools and approaches used in policy-making. The EU policy-making team is looking for an intern interested in applying the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies and gaining practical experience in this field.
