Description

European Solidarity Corps (ESC) team volunteering is being organised as part of the international volunteering at the European Universities Games in Salerno (EUG2026), coordinated by the EUSA Institute, in cooperation with local partners. Selection was already done and applicants who were invited, need to also submit the registration via the European Youth Portal to be able to benefit from the benefits of the ESC programme, co-funded by the European Union. The Organizing Committee of the EUG SALERNO 2026 in collaboration with the European University Sports Association (EUSA), offers students and athletes the opportunity to actively participate in the sporting event as volunteers. The main objective of the program is to offer young students and athletes and anyone interested in organizing sporting events the opportunity to live a unique adventure, through which they can learn the values โ€‹โ€‹of sport, gain valuable work experience, express their creativity and enjoy event.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation and food are arranged and covered directly. Travels will be reimbursed for the selected participants. In case of expensive travels, a co-funding ceiling might be imposed, based on the travel distance by the EU's Travel/Flight calculator.


Training during the activity

Apart of the online trainings and information sharing, in-person trainings will be held in Salerno, followed by shift assignments. Participants will also be able to attend educational activities during he EUG2026, including the EUSA Forum.


Participant profile

The main objective of the program is to offer young students and athletes and anyone interested in organizing sporting events the opportunity to live a unique adventure, through which they can learn the values โ€‹โ€‹of sport, gain valuable work experience, express their creativity and enjoy everything that the Championship, as a crossroads of cultures and people, can offer. Through this experience, participants will increase their skills and abilities in the organization of a European sporting event, gaining new experiences in different fields. They will be invaluable to the Organizing Committee, they will exchange knowledge, learn about the cultures of other countries, make new friends throughout Europe and much more. The Volunteer Program includes: Accreditation, Ceremonies, Hospitality, Info Point, IT & results, Media & Communications, Medical, Spectator services, Sport-specific support, Team attachรจ, Transport, Volunteer management Young people 18-30 can apply, being motivated, and having at least command of English and/or Italian. For this specific project, we are accepting those currently officially residing in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia or Poland.
