🔷 Activity Details
Description
Our nursing home “Soziales Kompetenz-zentrum Rum” (SOKO Rum) takes care of seniors and dependent persons based on short- and long-termcare. For this purpose, the town of Rum has created our special housing complex that consists of 69 single rooms and 13 barrier-free rooms for the elderly. We try to support people during their daily routines, to make space for motivation and personal achievements and to create a respectful and homey atmosphere for this target group. Participant profile
You need to be interested in working with elderly people. It is not for everyone to work in a slow atmosphere which is also about disabilities, disease and medical support. But in context of a society which becomes older and older, it can be very interesting to reflect on ageing and about the conditions and circumstances “old people” have to deal with nowadays. We are happy to host a volunteer who has a stable personality, in order to be able to work with our residents, is open-minded, friendly, enthusiastic, creative and communicative, is motivated to learn German (and Tyrolean German dialect), wants to gain social, intercultural, communication and nursing skills, would like to work in a new but interesting environment, brings her or his own culture and interests into the project.
