About the Role

The Intern helps project teams integrate the Bank's Green Economy Transition (GET) approach into banking operations. Reporting to a Principal or Associate Director in the Green Financial Systems team of the Climate Strategy and Delivery Business Group, the role includes supporting effective delivery of GET via financial institutions, including Paris Alignment and Climate Corporate Governance at transaction level, and all aspects of monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV), technical cooperation management, policy dialogue and capacity building. The Intern may be involved in all tasks related to the EBRD project life cycle, including origination, structuring, execution, monitoring, technical cooperation and donor financing, and may support other special projects related to greening the financial system.

What You'll Do

๐ŸŒฑ Support identification and structuring of Green Economy Transition components for EBRD investments, including associated implementation and operational risks.

๐Ÿ’ท Work as a supporting project team member to develop new green financial products and contribute to project structuring, execution, implementation and monitoring.

๐Ÿค Support marketing and business development in the relevant sector and countries to build market contacts, develop deal flow and cross-sell the Bank's competencies.

๐Ÿ”Ž Support related due diligence processes to meet the Bank's standards.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Structure and help manage outsourced assignments for technical and policy services to clients, including project preparation, policy advice, and monitoring and verification of financial institutions' use of proceeds.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Support selected policy dialogue projects with local authorities and industry associations to improve the investment climate, and provide information or documentation for meetings and efforts to procure grants and technical cooperation funds.

Who Can Apply

๐ŸŽ“ A degree, preferably in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering or economics) or a combination of commercial and technical skills.

๐ŸŒ Knowledge and/or experience with green finance initiatives and the financial institutions' sector, and a good understanding of policy analysis and formulation in climate change, resource efficiency, energy efficiency and technology transfer.

๐Ÿ’ผ Sound understanding of business and finance principles, knowledge and/or experience in emerging markets including EBRD countries of operations, and experience in engineering/consultancy, energy/chemical/manufacturing, or a bank, equity fund, advisory or corporate finance firm.

๐Ÿ’ป Computer literacy and excellent written and oral communication in English are essential; other languages from the EBRD region are advantageous. The role requires the ability to operate within business guidelines and ethics, work sensitively in multicultural environments, meet tight deadlines and organise work independently.
