Are you a newly qualified doctor looking to sharpen your clinical skills in a busy campus medical facility? The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a motivated graduate intern to work in its medical facility situated within the IITA campus in Ibadan, Nigeria.

About the Role

IITA is seeking a motivated graduate intern to join the medical facility on its Ibadan campus, providing clinical care under supervision and gaining exposure to real world medical cases and issues in patient care.

What You'll Do

🩺 Manage common medical, surgical, OB-GYN and pediatric conditions.

🚑 Provide first aid for emergencies in trauma, communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases.

📚 Provide patient health education on hygiene, nutrition, lifestyle, family planning, disease prevention and more.

🔁 Arrange referrals to external health facilities in liaison with the Family Physician, and assist with scheduling and coordination of specialist clinics.

👥 Engage in relevant follow up on patients in line with their clinical conditions.

🔬 Investigate clinical problems using medical laboratory and diagnostic equipment, and perform relevant point of care diagnostic testing.

🤝 Collaborate with the Family Physician and unit head in the discharge of clinical duties, plus other duties as assigned.

Who Can Apply

🎓 MBBS or MBChB degree.

📋 Completion of NYSC medical practice.

🪪 Up to date annual medical practicing license.

🔎 Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to follow through on assigned tasks, with good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
