🇨🇭 Internship in Switzerland 🤝 Fundraising and Philanthropy at a Humanitarian Medical Organisation 💛 (CHF 2,000/month)

About the Organisation

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organisation that provides care to people in need, those affected by disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination. MSF Operational Center Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of the movement's operational centres. The Philanthropy Unit, one of six teams in the Communication and Fundraising Department, raises funds from individuals, foundations, companies, and Cantons/Communes. The Fundraising Intern works closely with the whole team, developing skills in communication, database management, and donor relations.

Main Responsibilities

🗂️ Update the database with new information (addresses, phone, email)

✍️ Draft and process thank-you letters, and support the follow-up of contact portfolios (cantons/communes, companies, foundations)

🎪 Provide occasional support for organising events and make phone contact with certain donors for ad hoc projects

💛 Support donor loyalty and reactivation activities, and research information on major donors

🌐 Support French/English translation and proofreading, and help draft and review dossiers, funding proposals, reports, and PowerPoint presentations for major donors

📋 Provide administrative support, including tracking donations, minute-taking, preparing micro-mailings, and helping recruit the next intern

At the end of the internship, you will develop and present a document on an area of philanthropy development of interest to your studies and useful to the unit.

Who Can Apply

🎓 Currently in university-level education

✍️ Excellent writing and synthesis skills, professional curiosity, flexibility, and a team spirit

❤️ A strong interest in humanitarian work

💻 Proficiency in MS Office/365; CRM experience is a plus, and previous internship experience is welcome

🗣️ Excellent command of French and English; knowledge of German and Italian is a plus

📄 A mandatory tripartite internship agreement (convention de stage); a 9-month, full-time internship
