About the Role
This internship is in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, part of the Outreach Division, Department of Global Communications in New York, which engages and educates people worldwide to support the ideals and activities of the United Nations. The Library connects Member State delegations, UN staff, researchers, and world citizens with trusted information, data, and knowledge about and for the UN. Under the supervision of the Project Manager in the Office of the Chief Librarian, the intern will:
📊 Assist with data analysis, data visualisation, data cleaning, and presentation of data, focusing on the Section's Key Performance Indicators and the analysis of global consultations and surveys
🤝 Liaise with other members of the Section to ensure data points are clearly understood and communicated
✨ Assist with other duties as required
Who Can Apply
🎓 Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme, or in the final academic year of a first university degree, in a closely related field
💻 Good knowledge of software used in data and statistical analysis and data visualisation; familiarity with generative AI tools is an asset
🗣️ Fluency in spoken and written English is required
The Details
📍 Duty station: New York, USA (in-person, with possible adjustment)
⏳ Duration: 6 months, full-time (five days, 35 hours per week)
🖥️ Interns must provide their own hardware, software, and internet connection
🕒 Type: unpaid; interns cover their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living costs
