About the Organisation

For more than 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fรผr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a company of the German Federal Government, has supported the implementation of development policy goals worldwide, working with partner organisations in 120 countries. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Liaison Office, in the Client and Business Development Department, is responsible for key account management with the GCF, developing GIZ project proposals for the GCF, and overseeing the implementation of GCF projects.

During your internship, you will gain insight into international development cooperation and its dimensions (advisory services, processes, partnerships), deepen your knowledge of climate financing, and get to know GIZ's project work in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Your Tasks

๐Ÿ“‹ Support project development managers across their range of tasks (conceptual work, coordination, drafting terms of reference, and more)

๐Ÿ” Contribute to reviewing relevant studies and baseline documents, including plausibility checks

๐Ÿ“š Conduct targeted research and prepare background briefings (primarily in French and English)

๐Ÿ“Š Prepare presentation materials and project plans, and support the preparation and follow-up of meetings with internal and external stakeholders

๐Ÿค Support the whole GCF Business Development Unit team through workshops, team meetings, and knowledge management

Your Profile

๐ŸŽ“ Studying environmental or climate sciences, development studies, political science, geography, or a related field

๐ŸŒ Relevant knowledge and a high affinity for climate change and climate finance, with a solid understanding of early warning systems and forest and land-use dynamics

๐Ÿ’ผ Initial experience in project management and/or development cooperation

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ A structured approach, initiative, self-organisation, flexibility, teamwork, and sensitive communication with different stakeholders
