The IOM Internship Programme attracts talented students and graduates with an interest in areas relevant to IOM's work. The intern will provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Unit, carrying out HR-related tasks including local recruitment, administration, and personnel files.
Responsibilities and Learning Objectives
๐ Provide clerical assistance for the smooth running of Human Resources processes and activities
๐๏ธ Assist in recruitment processes, including circulating vacancy announcements, arranging interviews, preparing interview and technical test materials, supporting reference checks, and messaging candidates
๐ Maintain orderly personnel files (electronic and hard copy), ensuring they are complete and filed, including e-filing in WAVE HCM
๐ช Support the organisation of meetings, training activities, and HR events through logistical arrangements, correspondence, and document preparation
โจ Perform other related duties as assigned
Training and Learning Elements
๐ Gain experience working in an international, multicultural environment within the UN system
๐ค Gain experience in organisation, management, and international cooperation activities
๐ Develop a better understanding of IOM's work as an intergovernmental organisation in migration, and access online training courses available to all IOM staff
Qualifications
๐ Currently in the final academic year of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, or a recent graduate (within one year)
๐ Between 20 and 36 years old, with less than two years of relevant working experience
๐ป Knowledge of HR principles, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong written and verbal communication, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and strong organisational skills and attention to detail
๐ฃ๏ธ Fluency in English (oral and written) is required
The Details
๐ Duty station: Manila, Philippines (in-person)
โณ Duration: 2 to 6 months
๐ถ Depending on experience and location, interns receive a small monthly stipend to help offset costs (not applicable to those already receiving an internship allowance or scholarship). IOM covers interns against occupational accidents and illnesses, but interns must arrange their own medical insurance for non-occupational matters
