About the Organisation

The UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) supports the roles and functions of the UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team, providing inter-agency coordination support to the UN Country Team and its various working mechanisms. Key functions include strategic analysis, planning and positioning of the Country Team, support to joint UN programming and operations management, policy guidance, and joint advocacy and communications to enhance UN coherence and improve the overall impact of the UN system in China.

The RCO China is looking for a motivated administrative intern to join on a full-time basis and contribute to its mandate of enhancing the coherence of the UN system in China. Under the guidance of the Executive Associate to the Resident Coordinator, this internship offers a unique opportunity to learn how the UN system operates at country level.

Your Duties

๐Ÿค Coordination and administrative assistance at the Front Office

๐Ÿ“„ Finalise and format official correspondence submitted to the Resident Coordinator and coordinate approval

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Provide simple translation and interpretation services when necessary

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Support chrono filing, archives, and the contact information database

โœจ Complete other ad hoc tasks as requested by the office or supervisor, in line with the learning objectives of the internship

Qualifications

๐ŸŽ“ Enrolled in, or having completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or in the final academic year of a first university degree, in a field closely related to the internship

๐Ÿ’ป Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required

๐Ÿ“ Duty station: Beijing, China (in-person, full-time)

โณ Duration: 27 July to 26 December 2026 (six months), five days a week, 8 hours per day

๐Ÿ•’ Type: unpaid; interns are responsible for travel, visa, accommodation, and living costs
