Description

This team is part of Concrete Deeds for the Baltic Sea poroject and organised in cooperation with organisation Estyes and Tallinn City Nature Conservation Department. The main tasks will be dedicated to the restoration of Pääsküla Bog and cleaning of seaside areas in Tallinn, for example the coastal meadow in the Paljassaare Nature Reserve. The team will also participate in Baltic Sea Day activities on the 27th of August. The work will be physical and related to environment and carried out outdoors. The volunteers will learn more about environment and Baltic Sea and get to know young people from different countries around the Baltic Sea, Greece, Ukraine and Serbia as well as to get acquainted with historical Tallinn and Estonian lifestyle. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteering team will stay in shared accommodation in a sports hall with basic cooking facilities (kettle, refrigerator, microwave) provided. The sports hall is located in a suburb of Tallinn called Nõmme. Sleeping mats will be available at the sports hall; participants should bring their own sleeping bags. There are also shower facilities, gym and sauna. Meals will be provided as lunch packs, catering or eating out depending on the day. Breakfasts will be organised at the accommodation. Transport cards will be provided for free transportation around the city.


Participant profile

We are looking for 10 young people aged 18-30 from countries specified below, who like to contribute to nature conservation, are not afraid of physical work outdoors, want to learn more about Baltic Sea and are willing to stay in simple shared accommodation conditions and enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. Volunteers need to stay the full duration of the project in order to get pocket money (5€ per day) and travel cost reimbursed (28-395 euros depending on the distance). We encourage application from  young people with less opportunities due to economic, social ,geographical or other barriers. Please note that drinking alcohol, using drugs is prohibited in the camp.
