About the Organisation

The BDE (Bundesverband der Deutschen Entsorgungs-, Wasser- und Kreislaufwirtschaft) is the German association for the waste management, water, and circular economy sector. At its Brussels office, students can complete an engaging internship in the field of European environmental and economic law, with an attractive area of work that includes close contact with the European institutions.

Focus of the Work

⚖️ European environmental and waste law, with insights into competition and state aid law, European consumer protection law, and other areas

🏛️ Getting to know the work of the European institutions, the German regional offices (Länderbüros), and other representations in Brussels

🎧 Following meetings of the Environment, Industry, and Legal Affairs Committees of the European Parliament

📝 Writing opinions and summaries on current environmental policy topics

🔍 Internet research towards creating an environmental issue tracker (the status and development of environmental policy at European level)

✏️ Editorial work

♻️ Following developments in the environment and, in particular, waste policy

Who Can Apply

🎓 Students

🗣️ Good English skills; knowledge of French would be helpful

⚖️ Experience in European and German environmental and economic law is an advantage but is not required
