🔷 Activity Details
Description
L'Orange Bleue is looking for a motivated person who wants to contribute to one of its main goals: making leisure activities accessible to everyone. In particular, the social center aims to promote its toy library and share its expertise in the field of games and play activities. The volunteer will therefore be able to take part in a variety of activities, including the leisure center, toy library events, and community gatherings such as neighborhood game cafés. The volunteer will also take part in the overall life of the center, as the activities run by the social center are designed as part of a coherent and integrated whole. Therefore, although the volunteer will mainly lead activities for children aged 6 to 11, they may also take part in projects involving younger children, adults, seniors, or other types of participants. In fact, any audience can benefit from activities, especially board games, as a way to create social connections and bring people together.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer lives in a shared house with 4 other volunteers in a large house with a garden located in the commune of Pavillions Sous Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis. Each person has a private room and shares a bathroom and 3 toilets, a kitchen, living room, terrace, garden... The house is equipped with wifi, TV. 30 minutes by public transport to reach the ORANGE BLEUE. Paris is accessible by train in about 45 minutes depending on the destination. The monthly subscription for the entire regional network is covered. The monthly allowance is about 450 euros per month for food and pocket money.
Training during the activity
The first two days will be dedicated to a two-day training to best support the integration into the local life and the host structure. Weekly participation in workshops in French is offered if the person needs and wants to. In addition, two seminars are organised by the French agency ERASMUS+. Also, internally, short non-certified training sessions will be offered by colleagues to share their skills and knowledge in areas such as activity facilitation, board games, the children’s library, and other related topics.
Participant profile
As for the profile, L'ORANGE BLEUE search a motivated person, with a real attraction for education, youth comics and mostly child books and games, especially boardgames. Indeed, participation in the life of the game library is an important part of the project. Only one volunteer of Spanish origin is needed, because we works each year with the same sending structure, DON BOSCO in Spain, in order to ensure the quality of the follow-up of the volunteer each time. It's not absolutely necessary that the volunteer already speak French well, the team is able to receive someone who speaks mainly Spanish.
