🔷 Activity Details

Description

MOAS is an international humanitarian organization operating critical care evacuation in Ukraine, aid delivery programming in Sudan and several integration and education programs in Malta. The opportunity offers volunteers a placement at the organizations HQ in Malta, through which they will learn what it takes to rum an INGO of this kind. The placement offers training and participation in all aspects of our HQ strategy including communications, OR, fundraising and operational management. Based in Valletta, volunteers enjoy a year living in a central area of the island and working in the historical capital. Volunteers’ interests and areas of expertise will be taken into consideration when allocating tasks. We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong interest or experience in the fields of humanitarian assistance, development and/or migration.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

MOAS will provide the volunteers with flights to and from Malta at the start and end of the placement. In addition the volunteers will be hosted in a shared home, with a total of three volunteers residing together, but having separate bedrooms. The volunteers will have access to free Malta public transportation as residents of the island and MOAS will support their application for residency. MOAS will also provide a stipend with which the volunteers can purchase food, and they will have access to a kitchen at the volunteers residence to facilitate their cooking and food prep.

Training during the activity

During the placement the volunteers will be trained on a multitude of both hard and soft skills. Training and mentoring will depend on the departments to which the volunteers are allocated but include social media management, research, content creation, graphics, media editing, grants research and writing, project management and so on.
